It would be great if someone figured out a way that we could visually tell the difference between regular and decaf. Maybe decaf glows? Weird color tint to it? How about if it left a ring on the cup so all you would have to do was tilt it and you could see if it is decaf?

Since I don't drink coffee i am assuming that both tastes the same if you're thinking of ways to distinguish btwn caf and decaf. I think that restaurants mix them up all the time. 20/20 did an exposé on this a few years back where they took coffee samples and analyzed them back in the lab and found that most of the time decaf wasn't really that at all. The glowing thing would be cool, but people would be afraid that it would make 'em glow too. Maybe there could be a litmus paper test that you could sell to dip into the coffee?
